Burns Unit 2012

Ever adventurous, 2012 Saw us decamp to the Milford Hall Hotelin a February where even Salisbury had snow on the ground. The dancing was a little cramped and the Chef provided an interesting twist on the traditional Tatties, Neeps and Haggis. I'm not sure the waitress in the background of the first photo had ever seen a ceremonial dagger wielded at a plate of food before!

Sadly I managed to delete the hundred or so pics I took, so these are copied from my flickr album.

Burns Unit 2016

It has been 31 years since a party of Niall McCalls' friends from Edinburgh turned up on his doorstep one grey January day in Salisbury,  with haggis and whiskey and good cheer. It became a tradition and soon grew to include family, friends and neighbours. Good company, warming winter food, whiskey, speeches, the poetry of Robert Burns, music, dancing... a good old country night out. This year was a Salisbury year, held at the Rugby Club next year we're all up to Edinburgh. Happy times.
