Lands End
The weather in the UK has become quite extraordinary, the chance of sunshine as unpredictable as the outcome of our recent EU referendum! So when we spent eight days in West Cornwall this August I had to do my best not to stop and photograph every new vista. My family get very bored of me lagging behind them every time the light changes. But we were all doing it in West Cornwall this summer. As the light changes, or the rain clears the landscape seems to gently shift. The grey granite rocks soften into pastel colours; the skies sweep across the fields and gorse hedgerows and before your eyes all is changing. Here where the land ends, you are never very far from the sea which can be dramatic and wind swept one day and then serene and blue the next. Everyday we walked in search of ancient cairns or castles or stones and every day we were suprised by unexpected views that took our breath away and drove us on to tackle the next hill or clifftop. I ddn't want to come home, but then who does after a wonderful holiday!
Our base at Boswarlas Farm tucked away along a narrow winding track, with its granite pillars and deep windows that allowed the sun to shine so warmly in the mornings (that we none of us wanted to get up) was the perfect place to step out from and return to each day. Thank you Tommy and Wendy x
